Hello to All Dear Bass Maniacs!

I have a 1983 Ibanez Musician MC824-DS bass.
But there are lot of dings and paint chips on the body.
So I planed to restoring it!

I'm here to find some good tips.

I want to strip the lacquer, apply a walnut color stain on the head and on the front of the body, not on the back and not the neck thru. Then I want to apply tung oil.

Should be awesome (at least in my dream)!

Anyone have any thoughts?

If it's all honest playing wear, I'd leave it as is.

Hi bassteban,

I posted some photos here:

So you will not refinish it?

Also it's the first time I can see on an instrument some kind of dust between some frets and the fret board.
But the frets don't seem to move...
Do you know why it happened?

Thank you for your help.
