Hello all. I need advice on Upton 5 string?

Hi to everyone. I've just joined the forum and it seems like an amazing place with a wealth of bass talent and advice from a wide range of players. Speaking of advice!..... I currently play a 5 string Reghin double bass that I bought about 5 years ago from Turner Violins in UK....but I recently had a little accident with it and have cracked the belly slightly! 6 inch crack slightly to the right of the f hole on the bass side......anway it's going to cost me quite a bit to get fixed and I am debating about upgrading to the Upton 5 string Hybrid bass. Does anyone out there have one? What is it like? Tone, playabilty etc.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave.

Hi Dave.

Remember how, when you were a kid, if you went to bed early on Christmas Eve, then Christmas morning arrives all the sooner?

I wanna sleep until September!!! That's when my 5-string hybrid should arrive. I have ordered one and the anticipation is excruciating. I ordered mine with the saddle upgrade, UB blacks and a Pirastro Obligato low B string (Low B availability is limited)
I searched high and low here for opinions on Upton 5-strings, but didn't find any reviews.

I'll try to remember to come back here in September and let you know, but I'll expect that I will be too busy playing my new Upton to spend any time typing on a keyboard.
