It took being ampless and watching the Carvin BX500 thread to finally get me to post. I signed up here last May and lurked for awhile before that.
I was on 'The Bottom Line' listserve back in the 90's (on an old Commodore Amiga 2000 no less via Compuserve) and haven't played much since about '96 or '97 but trying to get back up to speed.
My current basses are a '94 Carvin LB76 I bought new and an MTD Kingston 5-string fretless I bought off ebay a few years back. I had always wanted a Mike Tobias Bass every since Jimmy Haslip let me play his backstage at a Yellowjackets concert back in the 80s. May spring for an American made one someday. I played a Fender Geddy Lee at GC awhile back and may pick one of those up to have a 4-string again.
I also play trombone and have too many of those to count but my current favorite is a 60s model King 2B small bore.
Welcome to Talkbass, and welcome back the the bass, from another Arkansawyer! I am a Texan by birth, and love the Lone Star State, but I love my adopted home state too. Cleaner air and water are just a couple of the things I prefer about Arkansas.
