Hi
I've just joined Talkbass Forum after looking at the forum and following lots of threads. I'm in my 40s and have been playing bass for nearly thirty years. Currently I play DB and EB in a
40s big band playing Glen Miller, Sinatra and Bobby Darren classics. I really enjoy it and have improved as a musician immensely since I joined. My approach is to be as versatile and play as many styles as I can. I have played in a classical orchestra, funk, rock 'n' roll, rockabilly slap, fretless bass and any number of styles in between. I try not to limit myself. So far it makes me realise that bass is such a huge area no one can master it all but I want to keep learning and improving. My favourite bass player changes depending on the music I listen to. Currently it's Willie Weekes who I saw with Eric Clapton in February. |
