Hello from Dallas

Hi! I'm new to the forum and new to playing bass. I studied jazz in college and played the baritone saxophone, but that was a very long time ago. For my newly-aquired middle-aged crisis, I purchased a Fender Squier 60's Classic Vibe j-bass, an Acoustic bass amp, and lessons. God bless the ladies at Guitar Center who helped me pick out my first bass, both of them bass players (and one of them the bass instructor!). My goal is to become fluent in a variety of styles. For now, however, it's back to basics and a lot of re-learning old stuff that I've long forgotten.

Thank you, duld..."cool" is the last thing I'd consider myself. I envy your skill, when I try to sing, it frightens people.
