Hi,
I have been playing bass guitar in an intermittent way, on and off, since the 60s. Not very good, but I enjoy myself. I have Burns, Epiphone, acoustic and Hofner basses.
I have been diverted into learning on a Sousaphone, why? why not?
I have just acquired a black Palatino VE500 marked as E&F to see how I get on with an upright, although the Epiphone is the EB-1 with the pin for upright playing.
No room for an Acoustic DB, and the VE500 was cheap enough to try on spec. First reaction is quite nice quality for the price. The sound out of the box is guitar -ish, but I have not yet really experimented with amplification.
