My name is Timo and I live in the south of France. I use to play guitar but I tend to love bass more and more, especially to play with other people. I enjoy playing jazz and I might buy a bass some day.

My dream would be double bass but : it is a pain to carry around, it is fragile and it's quite a mess when you want to amplify it... So that makes me consider and electric bass, and more precisely a fretless one (I'm still hesitating on that point.)

I hope I will find a lot of people in these forums to annoy them with my questions that they will have heard an uncountable number of times. (What fretless bass should I get? Active or passive? What amp? What delay pedal? ... !)

Where in the south of France? I've been to the area of Montpellier quite often, mostly Ganges, Pic St Loup and stuff...very cool area but a bit too hot in the summer (and flooded the rest of the year )
