About Ampeg babybass : only neck is wood , body was made from UVEX ,( new plastic in the 60's ), developed by Eastman Kodak and filled by inestable styrofoam (also new at the time) . It smells like vomit and the body tends to inflate (and open),is very patetic. I sold mine at 150.00 dollars without cover. Missing it , I decided to buy an exact replica (Sendel ,from Cali Colombia ,by Fernando garcia ,(800.00Dollars )( REAL fiberglass with TECA wood , same hardware ,same all Ampeg specs (same color ,sunburst),same great Ampeg bass sound .IT is great with Salty Dog black strings (kevlar core) PS. my bass is less size below so better portability I need) but you can own fullsize bass. Only search "Sendel basses" and click (presto ) complete catalog and sound DEMO .Full Warranty. My REAL AMPEG BABY BASS was with me about 38 years, playing with famous people also.I will never forget it. Was pure emotion. |
