Hi All,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Hakim Callier, son of Rick Callier, a well known music composer, producer and arranger. I grew up in the music business and have been working off and on for a number of years but I am back to full time music and looking to get my chops back.
I am a recording engineer by profession, a drummer from childhood, a newly inducted bassist (instructor Brandon Kaaren) and making a claim to my father's life long effort of music composition, production and arrangement. I am looking forward to talking with you all and learning from you.
I am particularly interested in GROOVES, so if any bass players are in NYC HOLLA at me, I'm in apprentice-mode. And I have a strong back...hehe. Also, my younger brother is a pretty good song writer who recently found his nitch and is pumping out some really good songs if there are any soulful singers looking for a songwriting/production team HOLLA at me.
You never know, we might be able to convince my Dad to work on some stuff with us. That would be a treat. 8)
*Oh did I mention that my little brother is also an entertainment lawyer... 8)
