actually i am pretty much musicaly retarded...tho i know i know when i like what i hear

mostly joined so that i could get some help with a Christmas gift for him...

but i have to admit i have become quite infatuated with the whole thing

There are many reviews of things like effect pedals that make great gifts. Something not always thought of but can be very cool is a custom made bass guitar strap. If you know someone who works with leather you could have it stamped with his initials, whatever.
