First post - been lurking for a while. I've been playing bass for about 15 years, but only seriously for the last few. I have a regular church gig to keep the skills up, but I'm now in the process of getting a band together for fun too. We've only practiced a few times, but it's going well. (Music is roots rock/alt-country, etc. - think Uncle Tupelo as an example.)
I collect instruments too, mostly old Fenders, but I really don't have the budget for collecting now that the vintage market is through the roof. My main player is a P-Bass I built from parts that's got kind of a '70s vibe.
