Don't be afraid to ask if you wonder about something, but read the faq and the forum rules first and you should be OK. There's also a search function that is useful to use if you wonder about something specific. You avoid getting flamed for asking a frequently asked question if you do that...
Chances are high the subject has been discussed before. Also check out the stickies on top of the forums here, they're there for a reason and contain a lot of good information.
