Hello, I'm a Double Bass newbie. I don't even have an instrument yet, but I've got a ton of good information and direction from this forum. I'll be playing bluegrass and maybe some swing once I get going. I have a good teacher lined up, and I just need a new Upton Hawkes bass. I've played electric bass, so I have a good idea of what the bass should be doing, but I need to learn how to do it on a double bass now. I look forward to the exchange of ideas here -- bring on the Rockabilly Slap bass guys!!

Thanks for the welcome. No, I work for "American Iron" and "RoadBike" magazine.
