Hello TB from a North Wales NEWBIE,
On my way to bying my first double bass and boy, what a headache!!
So far I'm considering a
Gullier Bulgarian (maybee too delicate)
Upton Bass (made in Europe, so why not bypass the middle man)
Thomann bass (have to drive to germany)
Stentor (Made in china I think, plus I'll have to drive for hours to get one)
Strunal?!?!?
The music I play is mostly bluegrass'ish but only because I've just started and that seems easy to play. You can hear some here;

I also play in small pubs so I need something that can handle some abuse, so that's taking me down the laminate root, maybee with a carved top.
