Hello, I'm a newb, I've owned a Samick Corsair for like two years, but I only started getting serious with it about a year ago. My amp is a simple practice Behringer BX108. I got both these pieces of gear for christmas 2 years ago, not because I specifically wanted them, I just had bass guitar and amp on my list. Previous to this I had played viola in my schools orchestra from 5th-9th grade. I dropped that and took up my electric bass after jamming with some people during a party. I realized then that I should get serious and start taking lessons. So here I am, I jam with a drummer and guitarist in a classic rock/blues band, and still take lessons. Bassists who inspire me include Geddy Lee, Paul McArtney, Jaco Pastorious, John Enwhistle, and Roger Waters. Right now Im just continuing learning details on how to make up cool basslines.
Today I actually went out and bought an Epiphone Viola bass. I've always wanted a Hofner, but when I ordered the Icon in December, and I still wasn't going to get it until March, I waited as long as I could, but realized I just had to have it sooner than later, and both were probably the same quality. I found this site actually looking for reviews on all the beatle basses/copies out there.
