Hello from Western NY!

I stumbled upon this site looking for various dimensions to guitars. I am actually a tuba player who has been playing tuba for about 12 years (took a 6 year break lol) I have just gotten into a band and I will be doing tuba and bass guitar (not at the same time) This site has been a big help in reading about fundimentals and such. I also plan on making my own bass soon. By trade I program things in cad and run laser cutting machines. I saw a metal bass by James Trussart and fell in love. I plan on modeling one after one of those works of art! I am sure that I will rely on this site heavily!

Quick story: a few years back I was w a band performing at the Vancouver Jazz Fest. Our flight got in very late, so we were running late to the venue. Upon our arrival, it hit the catering room which was located pretty much under the stage. As I was inhaling some salmon, I hear what I think is the baddest, funkiest bass player I have ever heard. I run up to the front only to realize there's no bass player in the band - it was a tuba! That was the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Welcome to TB, and good luck in your searching!

Thanks! I love playin tuba, but it would be nice to do both because some of our songs are really well suited to tuba, but others just need a bass.
