Help me calibrate my 5 string bass !!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I hope you can help me. Being an starting bassist I found that the strings are too way high, their action is supposed (I guess) the lowest possible. When I move the bridge low I start getting this rattling sound all over the frets, the same happens when I turn the truss rod.

What is the proper lowest heigth of action for a bass?

Take your bass to a qualified technician as soon as possible. DO NOT turn the tross rod anymore! You could end up breaking it if you don't know what you're doing (and it sounds like you don't, no offense intended), and then you will be replacing a neck. He/she can help you get this thing set up correctly for your style and needs.
