Help me pick a bongo bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I am a lefty bass player and I have recently become enamored with the look and sound of the MM Bongo. I think I am going to order one from the factory pretty soon but I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out what color I want to get... The choices I like are: Graphite Pearl, Stealth, Sapphire Black, and Carbon Blue. I'm leaning toward the Sappire Black or Carbon Blue but all of the pictures I have seen vary greatly. They must be hard to photograph. I was wondering if anyone could post some more pictures of those colors. I can't tell if you can see the blue tint in the Sapphire Black or if the Carbon Blue is a very bright blue. Also I think I want a 4 string HH. (Thats what the guy from Porcupine Tree plays) Don't know if anyone can help, but thanks.

P.S. could somebody explain the piezo thing to me.

Small world. I'm thinking of getting one and am leaning toward the darker colors as well. Here is a bunch of pics from basscentral: http://www.basscentral.com/musicman/bongo.shtml

I kinda like the egyptian smoke as well.

What about the piezo? They are quartz-driven (I believe) pickups that reside in the bridge that are used to give a more acoustic sound. Probably something good to have on a fretless, but probably optional on the fretted. I don't think it costs that much more to have them, so I would be inclined to get them.
