Hey, I've been on this site every once and awhile since it's beginning but never registered until now. This seems like a great community here that I would love to be a part of. A little about me..

I am 23 and originally from the Washington D.C. area. I have been playing the bass for about 11 years. Through my college years I moved north to Boston and had the pleasure of studying at Berklee College of Music.

Currently, I reside in Las Vegas where I play poker professionally. Music in this town is almost 100% for entertainment, not much of an art. I have been offered some great cover gigs but I would get sick of them after a few months and don't want to make time for a 15set/wk gig. It is difficult juggling multiple passions.

In the next few years I plan to move out to southern California. There are many more venues are available in that area. My ideal gig would be at a dive venue jamming with musicians that will challenge me. I miss performing very much :\

Some of my biggest influences are : Mitch Cohn, Pino Palladino, John Patitucci, Raphael Saadiq, Colin Moulding, Randy Hope-Taylor, Jaco Pastorius, Reggie Washington, Nathan East, Tim Lefebvre

I have been all kinds of groups and enjoy all styles.

Axes:

Fender Marcus Miller 5 Jazz (vintage white)
Regal 4 (defretted, Tobacco Sunburst)
Zon Sonus Custom 5 (strung up tenor, EADGC)
Yamaha FG750 Acoustic Guitar
Roland TD-9SX V Drums

If you are really bored, you can check out some of my influences through YouTube videos. Please drop me a line on YouTube or AIM (Subschool5). I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you and talking bass.

Take care,
Keith

hey man, welcome to TB and to... "fabulous...LAS VEGAS!"
i was born and raised here (vegas), spent the last twenty + years playing on the strip, I happen to be making a pretty good living at it.
I also find the balance by playing original music and sitting in some jam sessions with some of the best players in the world (for art).
there's several venues for artistic expression here as well as world class musicians to do it with, look deeper...you WILL find challenge...
I do believe the level of the average lounge act here is mediocre at best due to bands moving here thinking they're going to be the "next big act" but because of the eclectic nature of Vegas, the original (art) scene here very much kicks ars!
enjoy while you're here, maybe i'll see you out there...
cheers!
