Hey, newbie here

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, I finally decided to join after stumbling across this site numerous times while doing bass research.

To tell a little about myself, I've been playing bass for just over a year now, so I'm pretty new to it. I've been loving it so far, I really feel that the bass is the right instrument for me. Now I just wish I was better at it :P

What I listen to and what I play are a little different. I like to listen to bands like Saosin and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, which are very vocal driven with heavy guitar, but the bass is kind of in the background. What I like to play is stuff that's very involved.

That's what I'd like to play anyway, at the moment I'm mostly playing songs that we sing at my church, I'd like to be able to play on the band so I'm practicing all the songs we sing.

Other "interesting" facts: I'm a sound technician at my church (albeit an amateur one), so I have sort of a unique outlook on music.

Now that I've joined this site I hope I can learn more about playing bass and about the bass itself. At the very least hopefully I'll be able hang out with some fellow bass enthusiasts.

I'll stop rambling now. Looking forward to my stay here.

Thanks. Was wondering if I'd ever get a reply.

Welcome to TB!

You might want to check out the links in my sig. below for some great TB info that may help you along your bass playing/sound "guy" journey.

Good luck.
