Long time observer; first time poster here.
I've found this site to be very informative, at times.

Got a lil' story for ya. I just received my Ampeg SVT-VR head so forgive me if I ramble since I'm still kinda' giddy like a schoolgirl over it. Yes, this thing is loud and heavy, in more ways than one. The tone I got out of it was freakin' unbelievable. So, I'm standing there admiring it and notice that my amp has some cosmetic imperfections. Those being that the knobs all have this little chip in the plastic, which appears to from the injection molding or some psycho. Another thing is, scratches around the power and stand by switches as if they were made while screwing the nuts on as well as some discoloration around that area, as if someone tried to buff out the circular scratches. Now did that on-line store ship me a returned item or is this due to the manufacturers shabby workmanship? I'm starting to lean towards the latter based on the fact that I’m also not crazy about the tolex. I know at times I'm difficult to please but for the money I spent on the thing I want perfection. Sound wise yes, I'm happier than a pig in **** and it looks menacing but when I get up close to it...

Anyone have a similar experience with the SVT-VR?
Thanks in advance.
