Hey, trumpeter to bass player

Hey I'm a bit new here. This seems like a pretty nice place for bass players. Everyone else seems to be discouraging playing bass. I'm 20 and used to play trumpet in high school. I had potential of being a good player, but I slacked off quite a bit and my band instructor wasn't to good. We didn't do to much scales or musical theory, but i can at least read music and have a basic understanding. I've had my guitar for some time, but i'm still to good into it. I don't really push myself that much. Plus, it seems much more complicated than what im used to. I'm getting there but very slowly. Bass seems more my thing, one note at a time. Also i didn't like memorizing tabs. Compared to normal standard notation tabs took hours to figure out. Hi I'm Thad!
