Question Hi from a complete newbie

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All

I have a Gibson EB2D,#320230 that I purchased in 1989.

The seller was an older retired jazz player who only played his
standup.

He told me he bought it new.I think he may have changed
one of the pick-ups.

The bass is clean with a good finish and original hardcase,
worn but solid.

Does anybody know DOB.Orange label, visible through F hole.
Value range?
Thank You

Update-found a great site "Vintage guitar info"."Union Made" on orange label places DOB at
64-69
Second Update-looked somemore at same site 320150 to 320699 is 1967 DOB.

I'm afraid I can't help you regarding the bass.

But welcome to Talkbass!

Welcome to TalkBass!

People at the Gibson Forum are very good at helping people date their instruments. The orange lable inside does indicate a timeframe when the bass was made (much like with vintage ES335s, etc) but I don't recall the specifics. Serial numbers are also used to date Gibsons. Check on the Gibson website in their section on determining manufacture dates of guitars and basses.

Good Luck!
