Hi fellow bass players ,
I`m a 48 yr old bass player/musician . I`m new to this site but I just have to congratulate everyone here resposible for puting this great site together . Well I have been playing bass amongst other instruments since I was 14 years old . I own/use amps by SWR , Ampeg , GK and George Metropulous and basses by Alembic , Wal , Fender , Gibson , Rickenbacker , Yamaha and Musicman . I played and recorded with several bands locally and overseas and am currently in the process of opening my own studio here on the island . At present I`m using an SVT VR head with two 1 by 15 Ampeg classic cabs loaded with Electrovoice EVM 15 L proline speakers for the bass side and a GK 800RB with a custom made Ampeg cab loaded with four Electrovoice EVM 12L `s proline for the treble channel . I usually always use two amps especially when I`m using my Alembic Series II Custom which is my main bass .
I use effects mainly on my fretless and acoustic basses .
Mainly by tc electronic , Furman , Ashley , DBX , Sansamp , Rane , Palmer , BBE , Rocktron and Avalon . Strings by DR , Rotosound and D`Addario , Woody straps and cables by Whirlwind , Monster and Evidence Audio .
My favourite bass player is obviously Jaco Pastorius and Scott Lafaro on the upright .
Sorry for the long introduction but as most bass players usually suffer from GAS , I thought most of you guys would be interested in knowing what other fellow bass players are using live and in the studio .
