Hey fellas!
My name is Alan and I am a new guy here. I wouldn't consider myself a bass player by any means. I've played guitar for the past 8 years.
Music is my thing. I'm not too good at it, but no better at anything else. I've played in local bands, and taught a little. I love rock music. It's the primary genre I listen to. Anything from 80's, to metal, to classic, to blues... I like a bit of everything.
I'm here cause I want to learn a bit about bass. I've got a ton of questions. I'm considering picking it up since I have been offered a gig as a bass player for a local band, as well my church is lacking a bass player and I might as well step up and fill in. So I'm interested in learning how to seriously play, and not just be a guitarist who moved to bass. I plan to continue playing guitar as well since that is where my heart is.
You'll be getting a lot of questions from me about technique, and a lot about selecting the right bass. One to handle both rock and Gospel.
