Hi, I'm Shea

My name is Shea and I am from Springfield, IL, am 23 years old and LOVE the bass.

What brought me here: I played the same bass/amp for several years, and though I started off a fast learner with a lot of passion for what i was doing, I eventually got myself in a rut of playing the same things and never challenging myself. Recently however, my electronics stopped working altogether, and since my rig was fairly cheap to begin with I figured it was just time for a change of pace. I bought myself a new bass & a new amp and I have to say, I've found a new spark in my relationship with the instrument. I can't put it down now. I think I learn more every week now than I was learning over the last two or three years of lazy playing. Now I want to spend every paycheck on my bass, or gear or whatever, as long as it has to do with playing bass haha.

...Which brings me to the internet. Because I hang out with a lot of musicians, but literally NO other bass players, I've recently been looking online for advice on how to get the most out of my instrument/equipment. After a while, I realized that all the best advice and information was coming from the same site...here! So I figured I should join. I came here because I want to be able to interact with you all and learn everything that i can. Thank you all for keeping this fantastic resource!

Disclaimer: I am obsessed with music, if you want to know who produced you favorite record, I'm your man, but I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing at all about the technical aspects of the bass guitar. I wont be able to offer too much advice to anyone at this point. I'll learn though!

(oh and I will have my profile filled out as soon as I can identify this Jazz Bass body....is there a thread for that? lol)
