Is this the right place to come to talk about these things?
Oh yeah I am also trying to be a bass player. I have been self teaching since April on a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe bass (please don't laugh).
I know alot of you guys are all into speed and trying to be as masterful as jaco - and thats great...but for me personally im just trying to find that rock solid groove that will make people shake their ass.
Have got to the stage where I know that I really must learn the theory behind the music if i really want to make any progress with my playing - and its a damn struggle...i aint got no real good book smarts...
