Question HOW DO I HOOK THIS UP???

Sign in to disble this ad
i just purchased an ampeg SVT 4 pro head, a bbe 482i sonic maximizer, a 266xl dbx compressor, a monster power 2500 conditioner, a korg dtr 1000 and a audiotechnica wireless. now how the hell do i hook it up? should i run through the effects look or ive been told breifly to run from the wireless to the amp.?? i went from running a single swr head to this new purchase so im pretty much out of my element. i just know how to play not how to hook things up. any info would be appreciated. im running it through my two 4x10 hlf cabs. Thanks
Brandon

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's supposed to go:
Bass->Wireless->Amp Input
Amp Effects send->Tuner(unless the Amp has a separate Tuner Out)->Compressor->Sonic Maximizer->Amp Effects return
Output on your amp->Cabs

If you want some more info on this, you might want to post it in the effects forum though.

I wouldn't even touch the Compressor or Sonic Maximizer unless you think your tone needs it.

No offense meant but compressors and maximizers are pretty delicate units to adjust and tweak. If you don't know what you're doing, which I assume since you don't know how to hook them up in the first place, you're likely to do more bad than good to your tone. Ampegs tend to naturally compress you tone already anyway. As for conditionners, they're pretty much useless out of a PA rack.
I'd recommend going wireless into amp, tuner in tuner out and leave it at that. It will already be much more gear than you're wishing to carry around.
