New to the board, wanting to make myself known.
I am a musician with 25 years of professional experience as singer and bass player in a variety of different types of bands: From hard rock to jump/swing and everywhere in between--well, except for New Wave-Polka ... although I
do know this accordian player ...
I have owed an incredible variety of gear over the years, but I always seem to come back to a P Bass and that is my main area of equipment interest as well. Everything from an original '54 to a new American Standard to some Franken-Fender that somebody put together out of parts ... if it is a P, I am pretty much interested. I like
Js as well, don't get me wrong ... actually I like all KINDS of different instruments ... but my heart belongs to the Precision.
I am currently playing in four bands and averaging 10 gigs a month, which suits me fine as I also have a 40+ per week day-job, a two-hour weekly radio show, a house and a boat and a wife, cat with whom I need to be on speaking terms. At 42 my dreams of touring the world with a band have passed, but I still have occasional gigs in the surrounding New England states, so that is fine as well.
I do a LOT more playing than I do surfing (
as it should be) and I'll probably do more lurking than posting, but I will be around the P Bass threads for sure, so look for me there.
