For refocusing my attention, and reminding me of the way the bottom end of a song feels inside.
I was maybe six(?) and Motown was all I heard on the radio. I loved how it made me want to just move. I was living in Dayton, OH at the time, and my neighbor down the street, who had to be 200 (OK probably 70), looked down at me from behind his upright and carefully pronounced that "white folk can't make that sound". Sadly, I believed him. It's 40 years later and I know it's not the color of your skin, it's the rhythm in your soul.
So, Hello! I'm here to hang out with some great folks, and see if I might just have some of that groove of my own inside.
