I guess it's about time . . .

I've been rather addicted to TB for a while, and after getting a good bass and an instructor, I figure it's about time I go ahead and join. I'm a college student who's finally become serious about music. I took piano lessons as a child, followed by a little bit of guitar (I know, I know ^_~) in my early teens. However, it's only been in the last year or so that I've fallen in love with music. Coincidentally (or not), it was also about this time that I gained an interest in the electric bass. Although I still enjoy piano and guitar, nothing is nearly as fun as belting something out on my Yamaha.

My musical tastes are pretty eclectic (I'll listen to just about anything except country, bluegrass, rap, or hip-hop) - you could say I like whatever moves me/piques my interest. Unsurprisingly, that tends to mean songs with interesting basslines nowadays. At the end of the day, though, I'm a classic rock and blues fan as much as anything, although my knowledge of the latter is sorely lacking.
