Angry I need some advice!!

Hello everybody!

I really need somr help and advice. I have recently started playing bass again after taking about 5 years out to concentrate on work and other hobbies!!

Anyway I am back into playing in a big way and took the decison to overhaul some of my kit that I had been using for the last 14 years or so. First thing I did was to but a new bass - a 4 string Musicman Sterling with humbucker and jazz pick up. I have also recently sold my faithful old Peavey 2x10 and 1x15" cabs and opted for a lightweight EBS neo 212 cab which I am still using with my Trace Elliot GP12smx pre-amp and power amp.

I had my first rehearsal with the new speaker on Tuesday night and was not really that impressed despite everyone advising that I would be knocked out by the sound from the EBS cab!! I felt that the cab lost a lot of the bottom end that I got just from my 2x10 alone and did not really seem to cope with the live sound.

I am now in a dilemma that I have got rid of the speakers that I was used to and now cannot seem to get a sound that I am happy with. I play jazz funk so slap a lot - can anyone recommend if I should now look at changing my head and if so to what? What are the thoughts on EBS cabs and are there heads any good? Hope that someone can give some advice/inspiration. Things seem to have moved on a lot with the equipment in the last 5 years and I feel a little bit out of my depth!!! HELP!
