I want to say hi

My name is Jimmy and I've been playing guitar for, well since 1958. I guess that's 49 years. I've played bass off and on during most of that time but I'm at a place now where I enjoy playing bass with a little three piece group more than I was enjoying guitar. It's a lot different to me and I feel like I can enjoy the gigs a lot more now. Everyone plays guitar but there aren't enough bass players to go around (or that's how it is around here). I live just outside of Anderson, Indiana which is about 25 minutes from Indy.

I've got a Fender P bass and I'm really wanting to go to a five string in the near future. I just ordered a new Ampeg combo (the one with the 2 8" speakers) and I have various other amps around.
That's about all I have right now. I've been laying back reading things on here and it looks like a great place.

Thanks for being here.

Welcome!
The BOLDED items are keys the most important one being I enjoy playing bass with a little three piece group more than I was enjoying guitar. Stick with it and if you have time, go back to your favorite GUITAR tunes in the past and learn the bass! They'll come back to life quickly and you'll learn a LOT about bass.

Enjoy...since you already are started on it!
