Hey all,
my name is Cory. I live in East Wenatchee Washington (state) with my wife, our 5 month old son Wyatt and our three labs.

I enjoy the outdoors and I was never really into playing an instrument because I couldn't sit around inside long enough to practice. But now that I have my son I find myself confined to the house more and have taken the opportunity to learn how to play the bass.

I got my Johnson by Axl from my little brother who has been playing bass for years. It was his old one that was just sitting around. About the same time that I got my bass a friend of mine asked if I would be interested in playing with the church's worship team. I said sure and have been practicing with them since November.

This Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, will be my first time playing bass in front of people. The bass player will be leading worship on Sunday therefore his spot will need to be filled. I was ecstatic to take this opportunity to play. Hopefully, all goes well tomorrow.

Well, it's not my life story but it's a pretty long introduction, so I think I will end it here. It's very nice too meet you all and I look forward to chatting it up with some of you in the near future.

How did it go?

Hi Cory,

How did your bass playing in church service go? So you have just started learning bass guitar last Nov and you can now play in a band? That's amazing. I am a beginner and looking forward to play in church band as well, but I think I need a year at of practicing at least ...

Good luck and hope your progress well!

Champion,
playing went awesome today. We played 5 fairly easy songs and I think I only messed up really big once. But the nice part about it was no one noticed. I encourage you to find a group and start playing right away. When you play with other people, especially those that know a lot about music, you will learn quicker and be playing in a group before you know it.

Thanks for the luck and I too wish you luck and hope you find someone to play with soon.

Cory
