Hello all,

I had stumbled across Talkbass a while ago and lurked around a bit. I liked what I read and learned a few things. This is a wonderful and informative group of people, and I am proud to be a supporting member.

My little intro:

I have only been playing bass for about 6 months or so, I have a back ground on guitar, but I always wanted to play bass.
I like playing blues and I am really into the whole singer/songwriter scene. I have noticed a bass player with an acoustic bass is always welcome in an acoustic guitar circle, especially when you add some bottom to all that twang, and emphasize on the crazy chords flying around. When in doubt I rely on my old friend the root.
I am a big fan of John Prine. I am not really a heavy scales or modes player, I work my around the neck using mostly chord tones and some tension adding notes here and there while walking.
I am not a neck shredder by any means, although I do shuffle nicely and am careful not to over play. Just tasteful well placed notes rounding things out is what I enjoy!

I am really looking forward to learning from (and with) this fine group.

Best Regards
John-E
