An Introduction (of sorts)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everybody...
I just wanted to introduce myself to the rest of the people here. I'm in my 50's and I live in Florida. I am a guitar player who is going to try coming over to "the dark side" and playing bass for a change. I have a Les Paul carved top bass but I need a good bass amp. I have always wanted an Ampeg SVT classic and an 8 x 10 cab. I'm working towards that purchase. I am going to start searching my area soon looking for a guitar player who is better than me (at guitar) so I can lay down some funky grooves with the new lead player and my drummer. I have been playing the guitar for 40 years and the transition to bass is not a difficult thing for me. I just need to settle down a little bit and stop doing all the string bending. My Les Paul bass has a really chunky neck and rather small frets but I'm a big guy with big strong hands and it's not going to be a problem. My friend has a fretless Fender that I would like to buy off of him. The action on that guitar is "to die for".

Learning to play bass has helped me a lot with my guitar playing. Makes my guitars seem very small too.
