I've been playing guitar for several years, but bass has only been in the mix for about a year and a half.

I play metal and jazz, but I don't work with a band since I spend too much time experimenting with tunings for my own good. My primary bass is a sixer that is desperately in need of new ropes.

My non-musical interests are mathematics and... well, mathematics and not much else. I've used that to write more than a few things on electronics, the basics of audio, and other such things for other forums in the past (under the same name), and hopefully will find more things to write about here. I spend free time on computers (GNU/Linux programming and tweaking, computational mathematics, and other such nonsense), electronics (primarily audio), and learning about audio engineering, but since I see all of those as a lot of luck and a little mathematics I lump it all in together.

I don't keep track of favorite bassists or bass albums... yet. I'm sure that'll change eventually.
