Just another new guy...

Stumbled across this place while searching for some instructional links and I am digging it so far. My bass history is pretty uninspiring. I bought my first bass about 20 years ago (Yamaha, probably a RBX-170), had it for 3-4 months and had to sell it. I didn't even have it long enough to learn much of anything except to blindly stumble through "Money" poorly. I've kicked around the idea of getting another one off and on over the years, but just never jumped in again. That hasn't changed yet, but I was banging around ideas for what my wife could get me for Christmas this year and it finally dawned on me; get another freaking bass already. So, a little starter kit has been ordered (Ibanez, which apparently most of you aren't fond of) and I've started gathering ideas for a learning plan. I guess this could be considered my second first bass. Other info: 34, in the Navy (for just over 15 years now), married for 13 years, no kids yet and an all around decent guy.

Hey, I quite like Ibanez. I have a 77 P-copy & a coupla FX; love them. Also, welcome here.
