Anyway, my names Joolz and I'm a bassist. Phew, that feels better now I've got that off my chest.
I have a Warwick Corvette standard that is in need of some TLC. It's had a couple of falls and the headstock is starting to crack. It hasn't affected the tuning or anything and it still seems pretty solid, but there is a definite crack there.
It's my 40th this year and I'm going to treat myself to a new bass for that. Not sure what yet, but I'm looking at Thumb type money - £1600 ish.
So any advice on either broken necks or good basses (I've read all the replies to "which bass" type questions and I really don't know what I like. I do like the look of the Thumb bass, but I know that's all a bit superficial). Any advice, recomendations, etc, would be gratefully received.
I'm not much of a thinking man's bass player coz I don't really know what I like as far as sound is concerned, and I ain't the greatest player either. I'm good at hearing chords so I can jam along in just about any style apart from slap stuff and I manage to make a bit of pocket money by playing in a couple of bands (wedding pop/rock covers, and barn dance band!)
Anyway, considering noone is ever going to read this, I 've waffled long enough.
Looking forward to talking bass soon.
Cheers
Joolz
