Hello to all. I'm new to the bass (got my first bass about 2 months ago) and came to this forum looking for the answer to a question. I intended just to lurk for a while, but there was so much here, I just had to join in.
Last year it occurred to me that whenever I listened to music, I'd sit there listening to the bass; even when there was some great stuff going on with the other instruments. Don't know why it took me till I was in my 50s to figure that out! I think I was preoccupied with other things. Anyway I figured I had to learn to play the bass and started recently and was immediately hooked.
Anyway, looks like there's tons of great info on this forum. and like I said, I just had to join in.
