Just joined. What's the best 2x10 cab in the world?

I'm looking to go lighter. I play 4 string in an oldies soul band and a jazz trio. Presently have a a broken SWR Workingman head and a Walter Woods for upright. Love my 4X10 SWR but need to go lighter so I want to replace The broken SWR and buy a lighter speaker set-up. Would like toget opinions.

Thanks

You'll get lots of opinions on your topic. Here's a link to see what's out there.
Portable amps, cabs and combos Links to 30 Manuf. of Light weight cabs, amps, combos

Try a search: http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&s...t+cabs&spell=1

IDK what your budget is but something interesting beyond the 2x10, a 12 and a 10 weighing in at 40lbs.
Fairly efficient cab and according to the website, can replace a 4x10. http://www.schroedercabinets.com/1210.htm
There's also a many clubs on TB that cover most cab makers. Here's the Schroeder club link: The Official Schroeder Club

Welcome to Talkbass!

One of the cabs that Stumbo referred to is the Schroeder 1210. I have that one and love it. Lots of low end, pretty efficient, great sound.

A couple of others I really like are the Acme Low B2 (you need tons of power for that one) and the Eden D210XST. The Eden is very efficient, although some claim their specs can't possibly be true. Almost breaks the good old small/low/loud rule.

A friend had also recommended Eden's 2X10 cab. Sadly, I think it's too expensive for me.

I just got an Ashdown 2 x 10 300w EVO II combo and I humbly submit that, assuming the separate cab is the same as the combo with the amp sawn off, it sounds awesome - you'll never look at a 15" again!!.
