Hello all. I'm 30-something, and just picked up the bass again after 20 years. I got discouraged and quit because my bass was too big for me (I thought I would grow into it, but I stopped growing!) I'm experimenting with a capo, and planning to buy a shorter-scale bass. In fact, I found TalkBass by Googling "bass capo", and it sent me to one of your forums. To all the chicks out there: Don't give up!

Good to hear, we need more female bass players(and TB members). Have you ever tried a baritone guitar or a piccolo bass?
I use a regular guitar capo on my bass, but you might want to try one before you buy.

Baritone guitar/piccolo bass? I gotta look these up...oh, and I already have a capo. It's made for a 6- or 12-string, so it's strong enough to hold 4 bass strings. The strings are a joy to keep in tune, however. *Sigh* I need a smaller toy! Thanks for the welcome.
