I am looking for a guy named John who ran the New Hope Guitar Exchange in New Hope , PA back in the early to mid 90s. He actually built basses, and I bought one of the first ones he sold.I seem to remember something about him apprenticing Carl Thompson or some such thing... They were called "King " Basses- Had a lot of similarity to Ibanez, hardware wise, but amazing woodwork on the body. I used to spend hours and hours on stage with a bad back, and this was the lightest, most comfortable bass I ever wore that still had meat in it's tone- I still have the thing like 15 years later, and am curious to find out if he is still building them, as I know work for a big distributor to retail stores- If anyone knows who I am talking about, please ask him to email
