Well, this was a long time coming! My name's Mykk, and I'm a 21 y/o guitarist-turned-bassist from the Philadelphia area.
I've been perusing TB threads for a couple of years now (after reading guitar forums for years...gah) for gear research; while guitar was my primary instrument, I played enough bass and was just enough of a gearhead to want to keep up on the latest gear trends.
I formed a jam band in October,
Salsa Shark, with two other guitarists and a drummer; the other two guitarists jammed first and had chemistry, so I switched to bass. While my research has led me all over the Internet and to conversations with many a bassist, TB has easily been my most valuable resource during my transition to the bass world in terms of gear and playing. Hopefully, I can pay it forward and use my unique perspective to contribute to this awesome community!
