Looking for a new bass amp

Sign in to disble this ad
I am thinking real serious about buying the SWR WorkingPro 12 Bass Combo Amplifier. I like the amp but its kinda expense(550 dollars). I play a lot of smaller type gigs and like the portability of it. What I am looking for is bass amp smiliar to it but at a lower price. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank You

Billy D

Welcome to TB, Bobby. Are you looking for a new bass(as in your thread's title)or amp? A friend has a WorkingPro 700 head & loves it. I 've also played around w/the WP-12 combo; it's pretty impressive. Anything much cheaper(which will often mean smaller & less powerful)may have a hard time putting out enough volume to be effective. serach up some old threads; everyone wants a small, cheap, loud amp- there are several that do 2 out of 3.

Edit: Duh- I thought you were a new member(new memebers forum- go figger ). Another on topic point: Go used.

Hey there,

I've owned one for almost 2 years now, and I think it's great. I think they've got great tone and, provided you have PA support for larger venues, at 200W about the right amount of power (must admit 260W like the 2x10C has would have been even better :-). But 200W is very flexible, provided a PA is there for the bigger rooms.

The Bass Intensifier on them gives them warmth if you need it. It's a pity the price is putting you off because they are a good thing. You would not need another amp for a while.
