Hi Everyone,
My name is Dave and I have been playing bass for about 2 years now - self taught. Prior to that I was a drummer and french horn player in high school, and a music major in college, though I did not finish college as a music major. My full-time job is as a RN in a very busy Emergency Department.
I founded and play in a Def Leppard cover/tribute band called Switch 625 (
www.switch625rocks.com). Def Leppard is my favorite band of all time. Our band just found a singer and is finally getting off the ground. We'll be doing shows starting later this year or early next year. My first band was a Stone Temple Pilots tribute, which was a lot of fun, but we mutually ended the project (STP was a tough sell in this area...hell...STP themselves couldn't even sell out at the small venues around here!). I am also learning guitar but I only refer to myself as a bassist. Learning the guitar has improved my bass abilities, too.
My prized bass is my Vintage 1985 Hamer Scarab. I also have a B.C. Rich Warlock and a Fender Squire J-Bass. My guitar is a Jackson DK2 Dinky with the Eerie Dess Swirl Finish and Floyd Rose Tremolo. Looking to add a Jackson 5-string Bass in the near future.
Respect to all,
Dave
