Hello to everyone! My name's Abdul, and I'm a 24 year old bass player from Miami and I play in a metal band. I found this place while looking for some info on amp heads and cabs.

Here's a breakdown of my gear:

-Squire Jazz Bass, 5-String, Black, tuned a whole step down and I alternate between Standard D and Drop C.

-Brownsville Bass, 4-String, blue, Active pickups. It taught me the difference between Passive and Active, and I learned that I much prefer Passive (and I've played on quite a couple different active basses which confirm it for me). I pulled out the frets on it and put a set BEAD strings that I tuned up to DGCF, but even then I don't use it too much since it's kept at home and my amp is at my drummer's house.

-A Crate P-bass clone, 4-string, sunburst. My first every bass but right now it's out of commision. I need to take it in to get the wiring fixed for the knobs, and I'm gonna switch in new pickups at the same time. Other than that, this bass really plays very good.

-Hartke 100-watt combo amp. It's done it's job well, but it's time for an upgrade, especially since I'm contending with a guitar player with a Triple Rectifier and a Messa Boogie half stack, a full set of drums, and a singer with masive pipes.

-Zoom B2 Bass Effects Pedal. It's done a superb job coupled with my Hartke amp, but I don't know if I'll be using it once I get a better rig, since I want to get indiviuald stompboxes, now that I know what I like and use and what I don't.

So yeah, that's my essay. See you guys around!
