Talking Lurker Turns Poster

Sign in to disble this ad

Hello fellow bassists! I've been a lurker here for a few months and wanted to finally say "Hi!" I'm 24 and from Oklahoma. I've been playing for going on 11 years both electric and alot of double bass back in college. Right now I am in a hardcore/metalcore group trying to find and break the bouneries of the typical bassist in the genre. Whether or not I'm doing that I still have alot of fun playing and listening to music of all types. I think this community is a great and awesome thing and I look forward to becoming more a part of it!

Peace,

Nicka

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!!

As for my rig...

I tried the SVT4 with the 810 and found that the head was just too much for it and made more distortion than actual tone in my opinion. So I went with running 2 610HLF cabs in stereo. The practicality factor went completely out the window so transporting it is a large task unless you have a band trailer, are a touring act, or just have an SUV with alot of carry room.

After blowing your back out you do have a serious tone to look forward to however. Turn the pre-gain to 2 o'clock, dial the lows back, and just listen to that warm Ampeg overdrive and presence.

The rig is perfect for me and what I do but I understand not even half of all bassist want to carry around such a behemoth to get the sound they want. Besides, with what other rig could you put a Marshall 100w full stack back it's place?

I hear you there! My head is 100lbs by itself. My cab is ~80lbs and I'm looking to add an other cab in the same weight range to it

Wow, someone who is actually stepping up instead of down!! (j/k) It's rare now days with companies like Accugroove, Epiphani, and others making such great compact cabs to find someone still loving their wall of bass cabs!!

I'm still in the process of fleshing out my rack into a nice 10 space and possibly moving to two 810HLFPRO cabs... HEY! I can still dream!!

Rock on James!
