I've been utilizing this forum for years & thought it time to join! When I have specific questions, this is the only place to find answers.
My name is Bryan Worley. I've been playing bass for nineteen years. I'm only thirty, so I'm still a novice. I've been playing professionally for the last four years. I hold the bass seat in The Blue James Band
www.bluejamesband.com I'm also a very lucky studio bassist & I do a lot of freelance jazz & gospel work, as well as well as my own trio. I am also the MD for a rising country artist. I'm doing ok these days & feel like a lucky fool to have the best job in the world.
I have lots of basses & loads of amps. I like to have the right tool for any situation & I don't think that there's a "one size fits all" bass setup. But, I'm always open to suggestions!
I have studied with some great bassists! John Myung was the first guy to string up my first bass. Tom Pitta introduced me to upright. I once had a five hour masterclass with Milt Hinton, only, I was the only student! Anthony Wellington has been my guide as of late. He is incredible! His knowledge & teaching style are definitely worth the two hour one way drive! Love you Ant!
I know its a bit of a ramble, but now you know me pretty well!
Thanks to all of the veteran TBers that have indirectly or directly helped me out over the years. You are amazing people in an amazing place!
