Hello, My name is Mathijs.

I`ve been playing bass guitar for about ten years now, a few weeks ago i bought an Upright and actually it works out pretty well

I just registered to try and find some usefull info on setup, pick up`s etc etc

Well, first of all:
I`ve got a gig coming up some time soon and i want to use the upright. It`s just a small bar wich will probebly hold up to 50 or so people.

What would you guys sugest to do amplefyingwise, i mean would an ordinairy microphone (used for vocals meanly) do the job in combination with a small P.A.
Or should i already invest in, yeah, what do you call that stuff that they`d putt on the bridge of the bass (I`m Dutch so excuse my lack of english termolegy) of wich i don`t know anything really ?
